Galvanized Steel Plate
Galvanized steel plate is the raw material to produce steel garden hardware items: steel post support, metal timber connector, metal fence posts etc.
Surface of steel plate is galvanized to anti-rust. Galvanization is an economic and effect method. Almost half amount of zinc in the world is used for galvanization.
Definition: galvanization is to protect steel plate from corrosion,thus to furnish zinc coating on the surface of steel plate. Zinc coated thin steel sheet is called galvanized steel plate.
According to process method, galvanized steel plate can be classified:
- Hot dip galvanized steel plate: thin steel plate will be dipped into melted zinc tank, to coat the plate with a layer of zinc. Nowadays, continuous galvanization process is conducted, namely to dip coiled steel plate into melted zinc tank continuously to make zinc coated steel sheet.
- Alloying galvanized steel plate: steel plate is also hot dip galvanized, but after it comes out from tank, it is immediately heated to around 500℃ to produce alloy membrane of zinc and iron. Such kind of steel plate has good adherence and weld-ability.
- Electro-galvanized steel sheet: such kind of galvanized steel plate is processed well. But the galvanized layer is thinner, anti-corrosion ability it not as good as hot dip galvanized steel plate.
- One side coating & differential coating. One side coating steel plate is to galvanize on one side of steel plate. It has better adaptability on welding, coating, processing over two sides coating. To overcome shortcomings of one side zinc coating, there appears differential coating.
- Composite zinc coating steel sheet. It’s made of zinc and other metals like lead. Such kind of steel plate has excellent anti-rust property, as well as good coating property.
Apart from above 5 types of steel plates, there are also color galvanization steel plate, PVC laminated galvanization steel etc. But currently hot dip galvanized steel plate is still mostly used.
